Bake Uppercase Scene Headings
In Slugline 2 for Mac, under Format → Formatting Helpers, you’ll find Bake Uppercase Scene Headings.
Scene Headings are typically uppercase. When writing in Slugline, you can type your Scene Headings in uppercase or not. Slugline 2 for macOS will always display Scene Headings in uppercase, and both Slugline 2 for macOS and Slugline for iOS/iPadOS will always Print and Preview Scene Headings in uppercase — regardless of whether you typed them that way or not.
Slugline for iOS/iPadOS does not force Scene Headings to display as uppercase as you write. We wish it did, but this is one way that text rendering is better on Mac. You also may wish to share your Fountain screenplay with someone not using Slugline. So it may occasionally be useful to ensure that the underlying Fountain text of your Scene Headings is uppercase. That’s where Bake Uppercase Scene Headings comes in: it converts the text of your Scene Headings to uppercase. You won’t see a difference unless you view the plain text of your Slugline document, or work with it on the iOS/iPadOS version of Slugline.
